Red Bull – Heli Surfs Up In Indonesia

1500 people took part in Red Bull Heli Surf in Kuta,
Indonesia on July 17, paddling as hard as they could to reach a buoy with the
top three winning a helicopter flight to G-Land with big wave surfer Ross
Clarke-Jones

The contestants head out into the water.

The surfers were clearly determined to get on the chopper
to G-Land…

The surfers had to paddle 350 metres to reach the buoy –
with 19-year-old Australian Mitch Kenyon getting there first.

The three fastest paddlers to the buoy – Mitch Kenyon,
Michael Schmid and Matt Rivers – pose with Ross Clarke-Jones before heading over

to G-Land in the helicopter.

The prize for the three fastest paddlers was the chance to
surf with Ross Clarke-Jones.

Matt Rivers was delighted to get the chance to surf at
G-Land: “That was my first time in a helicopter and my first time in G-land! I
had heard a lot about this place, that it had perfect barrels without being
crowded. I was very excited – thank you Red Bull!”
